TransReview Note: Sadly we have none of these comics in our possession, so we are presenting you with this summary from Rob's Transformers Page.

In Japan, the DVDs for the Transformers Micron Legend cartoon series (otherwise known as Transformers: Armada) were sold with exclusive recolored Mini-Con toys, along with a four-page comic book. Told in parallel to the main Armada story, these mini-comics provided stories for the new toys, as well as giving some additional background into the Armada mythos.

While Megatron and Optimus Prime duel for Minicons on modern-day Earth, three other Minicons -- Servo, Flat-Out, and Redline -- are being pursued by mysterious hunting machines. Ducking into an underground garage, the Minicons activate their evolution protocol powers, using them on a parked car to reconfigure its engine into a turbo cannon. After the modified car destroys the hunters, the Minicons make plans to go into hiding, but are confronted by Stella Holley -- the car's owner...
Using a psychic link, the Minicons explain their plight to Stella Holley and their attempt to escape the Transformers' war to a peaceful world of their own. In return, she offers to help, and starts by hiding them in her basement. While Servo pokes through her underwear, Flat-Out explains that they're looking for "panels" -- portable circuit boards which contain the essence of a Minicon. They were lying dormant until recently reactivated by a Minicon activation call; when they came ashore, they were attacked by alien hunter machines (see last issue).

Meanwhile, in a Portland suburb, another Minicon is taken down by another hunter. The victim turns to his pursuer, a merciless Minicon in blue and black, and pleads for mercy. It's a futile gesture, as the stranger vaporizes the Minicon, then traps his essence in a panel...
Acting on a tip from a probe satellite, Redline, Servo, Flat-Out, and Stella travel to the Deccan Plateau of India, where a high-speed Transformers spaceship has landed. It's equipped with a cloaking device, and the newly-reactivated Minicon Rollbar volunteers to investigate. As Rollbar and Flat-Out approach the ship, Redline asks Stella to help serve as an intermediary with whatever Transformers are on board. If the Transformers are hostile, they'll escape using a nearby transporter.

The desert suddenly rings out with a taunt from two other Minicons, Top Gear and Midship, who promptly blast the transporter! They accuse Redline's team of being cowards, and Redline identifies them as the owners of the hunter machines they've faced before. As Servo takes Stella to safety, Midship captures Redline, and tells them that the Minicons are fated to fight in the Transformers' wars. While Flat-Out and Rollbar begin to notice that something's happening, Top Gear promises to "debug" Redline, even as he activates another Minicon of their own...
In the India desert, the evil Top Gear reactivates the Minicon Tailslide, who begins to capture the other Minicons. He fires a transfixation beam on Servo, trapping him in vehicle mode, but Redline wrestles free and fights back! The battle quickly escalates, joined by the return of Flat-Out, but a series of thunderous explosions stops everyone in their tracks!

The shots come from Scavenger, who's stepped out of the spaceship and is now powerlinked with Rollbar. Satisfied that at least one Minicon is now bonded with a warrior, Top Gear, Midship, and Tailslide opt to retreat, combining to form a jet fighter that quickly flies off.

Later, Redline, Stella, and Rollbar confer with Scavenger, who agrees to let them have his spaceship in return for their forgetting that they met him. As the Minicons celebrate, Stella faints from heat exposure, and Redline notices that Rollbar has driven off into the horizon...
Back from India, Redline's Minicons decide to move their operations to their newly-acquired spaceship, to reduce the danger to Stella. When she asks why Rollbar left, Redline explains that Minicons have a "servility program" in their systems -- they have a strong sense of belonging with whatever Transformer first awakens them. Breaking free of this attraction is possible, but depends on how much latitude the Transformer gives the Minicon. Changing the subject, Redline explains the results of his study of Top Gear's "hunters." Aside from their weaponry, they're able to wipe a Minicon's mind to a blank slate, and return them to a primitive, war-mongering state.

The conversation is suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a female Minicon named Falcia. Servo admits he told Falcia of their presence, and Flat-Out explains that she and Redline have had a rocky relationship in the past, which amuses Stella. Redline tries to recruit her to help them escape, but she refuses, and suddenly takes a Minicon panel from his chest! After resurrecting her partner, she plans to team up with the Autobots and smash the Decepticons once and for all!
In the Minicon ship, Stella yells at Falcia for insulting Redline and swiping Twirl's panel (see last issue). Mildly amused, Falcia promptly leaves, leaving Stella to trash-talk behind her back.

At Seattle, Falcia's partner, Combusta, asks about her mission to recover Twirl's panel. Falcia jokes about harassing Redline, but is suddenly interrupted when the Speed Chasers -- Top Gear, Midship, and Tailslide -- attack her in their combined jet mode! As Flat-Out and Redline race to her rescue, the Speed Chasers zap Falcia, but are immediately blasted by Combusta! She asks the others about Falcia's status; Flat-Out reports that she's okay... but Twirl's panel was destroyed...
At the Minicon spaceship, Redline and Falcia are preparing a dangerous attempt to rescue Twirl's detatched essence (see last issue). Falcia asks him to reconsider, but Redline insists he's responsible for all of their well-being. The two then initiate Power Fusion, where they share their energies to create a new "digital entity frame" for Twirl. Simultaneously, they've expanded their consciousness into the Linkage, the collective subconsciousness of all Minicons, in hopes of finding Twirl's soul before it becomes diffused. The search is harrowingly dangerous, but ultimately successful -- and Twirl is reborn!

The next morning, a giddy Twirl dances around the other Minicons, thanking them for saving her. Though pleased with the others, Stella is confused about what just happened, and asks if Twirl is Redline and Falcia's baby -- which they both loudly deny...
At Mount Astrogate, Servo is chatting with Rollbar and High Wire while Falcia and Twirl stand guard. Servo explains that Redline appears to have abandoned his plans to escape to a peaceful world -- while he was in the Linkage (see last issue), he saw "the terrible one." Since then, Redline's been working in the lab, finding a way to use the "Master Key" to unite the Minicons, but Rollbar dismisses this as a myth. High Wire urges them to join the Autobots, but Servo declines for the time being, and asks them to tell the other Minicons to "prepare for the transformation." Rollbar bids them farewell, and urges Servo to join them with the Autobots.

After Rollbar and High wire leave, Falcia asks what the Master Key is about. Servo isn't sure, but says Redline feels it is the key to the Minicons' evolution, and will ultimatly grant them their freedom. He then asks Falcia if she wants to join Rollbar et al with the Autobots, and she explains that she, too, has changed her mind -- because of her experience in the Linkage, she's decided to stay with Redline, and hope he can find something to free them all. Twirl is giddy that their family is staying together, and Falcia threatens to pop her...!

Later, as the Minicon spaceship flies near the Hawaiian Islands, three new Minicons -- the Aqua Raider Team -- close in for attack! They are being led from the Antarctic by the Speed Chasers, along with Sideways, the mercenary. Once the attack begins, they'll join the battle, and stop the rebellious Minicons permanently...
Off the coast of Hawaii, Redline gives his stash of Minicon panels to Stella for safekeeping, then joins with Falcia for an experimental evolutionary upgrade. In flashback, Redline explains that each Minicon has access to the vast powers of the Linkage, but this ability was kept secret from them to prevent overloading the Transformers in their Great Wars. The "upgraded" Minicons who've recently attacked them have surrendered their wills in exchange for access to that power; by studying their enemy's "hunters," Redline has deduced the formula -- the Master Key -- that allows them to evolve their Spark frames so they, too, can access that power.

The Aqua Raider team blasts their way into the spaceship, but it's empty; the Minicons have gone ashore to a nearby island for the experiment. The Raiders approach the site just as the experiment begins; with a crackle of electrifying power, Redline and Falcia have evolved themselves with the ability to access the full power of the Linkage! Desperate, the Raiders attack, but are easily rebuffed and destroyed by the newly hyper-powered duo.

As the Raiders fall, the Speed Chasers fly in at high speed, towing a large metal egg in their wake. Snarling a vow for vengeance, they unleash their cargo, the berserker beast known as Ravenus!
Landing with a thunderous crash, the beast called Ravenus snarls "Powerlinx," causing Twirl and Servo to immediately link with him! Gloating at this, the Speed Chasers explains that Ravenus' combining command is powerful enough to override the will of most Minicons. As Falcia and Flat-Out consider what to do, Stella drives up in a sports sedan and calls them to link with her. The two do so, transforming her car into an armored exo-suit, and the three jump into battle against Ravenus!

The Minicons' effort manages to knock Servo free, causing Ravenus to retreat with Twirl. Redline tells Combusta that he's uploaded the Master Key to the Linkage; she must tell all the Minicons to perform a "restore reactivation" so they can access that power.

As Redline flies after Ravenus, the recovering Aqua Raiders mock his plan. They explain to Combusta that their true master has already started to awaken, strengthened by the Transformers' ongoing war. The master has embedded Ravenus' circuitry with a "Doomstone," a crystal containing enough power to destroy the Linkage. Once Ravenus accesses the Linkage via one of the Minicons, the ensuing overload will destroy the Linkage and erase the minds of all Minicons!
Redline, deducting that the Aqua Raiders and Ravenus are working for Unicron, tries to pull Twirl away from Ravenus -- but the creature fires its afterburners and flies off! Meanwhile, Falcia, Servo, and Flat-Out also upgrade themselves; while Servo helps Combusta to call the other Minicons, Falcia follows Redline, and Stella activates the last two Minicon panels she has. Flat-Out interrogates the Aqua Raiders on how to stop the Doomstone, but they tell him it's useless -- it has enough energy to destroy an entire race, and even destroying it without the proper precautions will destroy the Earth!

Redline catches up to Ravenus just as he's preparing to activate the Doomstone, but a surprise appearance by the Minicon Kingbolt knocks Twirl free! Skipping the pleasantries, Kingbolt and Redline prepare to fire upon Ravenus, but Twirl tells them to stop -- because the creature is actually an Autobot ally...
As more upgraded Minicons join the fight against Ravenus, the Aqua Raiders exploit the distraction and escape through a dimensional gate. Ravenus screams in agony at being separated from the Minicons, but Combustia, Twirl, and Falcia begin to use their combined powers to reveert him back to normal.

The Doomstone, however, remains a dangerously unsable artifact, and Redline has to find a way to stop it immediately! Some of the Minicons urge him to throw it through the Aqua Raiders' dimensional gate, but he refuses -- and stores it in his own dimensional compartment instead! Falcia and Flat-Out question his decision, but Redline explains that the Doomstone contains the soulful sorrow of thousands of beings, and cannot be discarded like so much trash...

Later, after the Minicons have been freed from their servitude by the Master Key, they unanimously decide to take the war to Unicron itself. As the Axalon signals for the Minicons, Redline and Stella say their goodbyes; Stella is deeply distraught that they're leaving, and Redline explains the cause for her affinity -- that the souls of the Minicons were split off from those of humans in the distant past. Accepting this intimate connection to them, Stella gives the Minicons one last farewell hug, then watches them fly away with a promise to give her a sign of their fate...
Left alone after the departure of the Minicons, Stella is driven to doodling. She draws pictures of the Minicons victorious and living in a flying castle, and muses whether they can draw any encouragement from her art...

Far from Earth, in orbit around Cybertron, the battle againstUnicron reaches it climax! Impulsor and Quench charge into battle, driven by rage at missing their farewell with Stella, while Swoop fights with unbridled fury to atone for his actions as Ravenus. Redline and the Super Stunt Team confront the Aqua Raiders once more; Redline offers them a chance to avoid a fight, but Midship taunts them as useless scraps. In response, Redline counters that Unicron fears the Minicons' true power, and unleashes it completely against the Chaos-Bringer...!

A year later, Stella has mostly returned to a regular life at school, and believes she will soon forget her adventures. But at lunch with her friends, Stella is surprised as her auburn hair suddenly glows bright yellow -- and transforms to platinum blonde!

And as the surviving Minicons prepare to settle down in their new flying fortress home, Stella knows her final wish -- to rejoin Redline and the others -- will come true any day now...
